“MAYA”
There are no words to describe the sense of achievement when you breed a dog, any dog with the attributes that make them world renowned, like no other, and can bring the breed to a place that it has never been before. But to achieve this, you have to have the team to help make the dream come true. Maya is owned by Kiki Courtelis, Joyce Wilkinson, David Fitzpatrick DVM and myself. They are the reason this was all possible. There are no words to ever thank them, they know what we have achieved and the immense satisfaction knowing that a Border this wonderful holds the bar to which others must reach. Maya is sired by Ch Kandu’s Marathon Man CD RE SE and out of Ch Meadowlake Angel In My Pocket RL1 NA NAJ NAP NJP JE CGC TDI V (whew). AKA Halo, is out of our foundation bitch, BISS Ch Meadowlake Watch Me Shine. Going back to our original import foundation bitch, Ch Rainsbarrow Lapsana.
In just 2 years, Maya broke the all time record for Best In Shows, with 14 BIS’s and 115 Group Ones. In her first litter at 5 years of age, she produced 5 beautiful puppies by Ch Meadowlake Smash. We kept a blue bitch from that litter, Ch Meadowlake Slightly Sinful. She then came out of retirement to compete again at Westminster Kennel Club dog show where she was for the 3rd time, Best of Breed and went on to a Group 3!! At 6 1/2, she was bred for the second time and easily delivered 4 puppies. 2 girls and 2 boys sired by BIS GCh Meadowlake Whistler at Amberly. We are currently running on 2 of them to decide who shall carry on! There is no limit to what she will contribute to the future of the Border Terrier, but I only hope her offspring can make others as happy as she has made us.
